The segments allow you to define the different populations of respondents to your campaigns.

In other words, you can choose to distribute your participants, for example according to your campaigns, deployments, your objectives, your marketing targets [...]

You can create as many segments as necessary, to be more accurate in analyzing the collected answers for each of your campaigns.

Segment groups give you the ability to link multiple segments, to more easily consolidate answers by grouping different populations.

Create Segments

Let's take an example. You have just launched a satisfaction campaign to your customers. To define your population of respondents, you could create the "Clients responding to the satisfaction survey" segment.

To further distribute your customers, you could even choose two distinct segments based on the date / period of your campaign.

For example, to allocate our respondents between June and July:

Let's see how to create these 2 segments: "Segment (1): Satisfaction - june" and "Segment (2): Satisfaction - july".

In the menu, go to Tracking > Segments,

Then click on "Create new segment",

Give it a name as "Segment (1): Satisfaction - june".

Renew process for the other segment " Segment (2): Satisfaction - july".

Your two segments are both created.

You can duplicate, edit or delete it in the "Segments" menu.

Create Segments Groups

To group data of different segments you can create groups of segments.

Here we choose to create the segments group "Groupe (A) Satisfaction - june - july", who will group segments "Segment (1): Satisfaction - june" and "Segment (2): Satisfaction - july".

1 - Create a new group

Go to Tracking > Segments groups,

Then click on "Create new group",

Give a name to your group "Segments group: Satisfaction - june - july".

2 - Fill the linked segments

Now you must attach both segments " Segment (1): Satisfaction - june" et "Segment (2): Satisfaction - july" to you segments group.

During the segment creation (or later), you should choose to link a segment to a group of segments.

Choose the group "Segments Group: Satisfaction - june - july"

After linking, the Segment Group appears take place as a tag.

Now repeat the operation for the second Segment.

Let's take our example further: you now want to define more specific groups of respondents. In addition to segmenting by period, you also want to create a segment based on your campaign's media type. Finally, you need to be able to keep an overall view of all your segments.

- We will create 3 groups: the first group will concerns all our segments, the other two groups will concern respectively the diffusion by email and the diffusion via website.

- We will have 4 segments in our example: two for the diffusion by email and two others for the diffusion via website.

1 - Create the 4 segments

Segment (3): Satisfaction - site web - june

Segment (4): Satisfaction - site web - july

In Tracking > Segments, you'll get these elements:

2- Create the first group

Give it the name "Segments Group (A): Satisfaction - june - july - all deployments"

Get a look to what you just built:

3 - Create 2 groups of specific segments (email and website)

Segments Group(a): Satisfaction - email - june - july (all email segments)

Segments Group(b): Satisfaction - site web - june - july (all website segments)

Go back to the "Segments" page for the next step.

4 - Link segments to their groups

Segments (1) and (2) will attach both the "Segments Group(A) and " Segments Group (a)" to be respectively part of groups « All deployments » and « Email ».

Segments (3) and (4) will attach both the "Segments Group(A) and " Segments Group (b)" to be respectively part of groups « All deployments » and « Website ».

Example below: Segment (1) is attached to "Segments Group (A)" and "Segment Group (a)"

Repeat the process for each segment.

Now you can see each segment is well attached to 2 Segments Groups:

5 - Go to Tracking > Segments Groups

In the "Segments" column, just check all is correctly setup, for each group thanks to the display of linked segments number:

For the "Segments Group (A)", you get 4 linked Segments:

With Segments Group (a), we really get both two segments "June" ans "July" about the "Email" deployment:

You just finished all the setup.
